X380 Yoga audio issues due to high-latency process

Out of the box and after all recent updates, I occasionally experience audio clicks, drop-outs, or pops in local and in streaming audio. (Although this issue has been reported on this forum and elsewhere for at least the last 7 years, I have not found a solution that works for me.)

The utilities DPC Latency Checker and LatencyMon indicate that these audio issues result from Wdf01000.sys or hdaudbus.sys.

I attempted to update drivers that Windows and Lenovo do not (yet?) update with Snappy Driver Installer (SDI). Updating most available drivers worked but didn't fix the audio issues. And updating the Intel HD Audio driver with SDI was a mistake, for now no audio driver loads.

Now, when the 2018-12 Update for Windows 10 Version 1803 for x64-based Systems (KB4023057) was installed, it removed Lenovo's audio driver, as well as Dolby Audio, and replaced it with Microsoft's driver. But I found the fix and successfully reinstalled Lenovo's driver. So, I attempted to repeat this approach relative to the drivers SDI installed, but it didn't work. Then, I tried System Update in Lenovo Vantage but it didn't detect that the driver needed to be installed or updated. So, I downloaded and installed the Conexant audio driver from Lenovo, and although its setup said the driver was "Ready to use," it didn't work. I then tried to remove all drivers and do a Check for updates and a System Update but these also haven't worked.

Thus, I'm currently without audio. Moreover, attempting to restore to a restore point before the installation of drivers through SDI hasn't worked because restoring hangs when updating the registry (necessitating a hard reset, but to before any files are changed).

Some have found benefit by rolling back a driver, but I don't yet know what to attempt to roll back. Others have mentioned removing CPU throttling (Processor power management?), but I haven't yet explored that due to the audio driver not currently loading; although, this approach sounds more like a workaround than a fix. When the CPU fan speeds up, a DPC spike is not inevitable.

But even without an audio driver enabled, there are DPC spikes and Wdf01000.sys is the highest latency ISR.
