Battery life in X1 Carbon 5th

Hello,

I have a question regarding proper managementuse of my laptop’s battery (X1 Carbon 5th). 

As you all probably know, it is a common recommendation for anyone who wants to extend the battery life of his laptop, to avoid using the battery at home (when the laptop can be connected to power) in order not to waste battery life cycles.

However, according to that recommendation, the battery should be detached from the laptop while the laptop connected to power.

Now, since it is impossible just to detach the battery in X1 Carbon, what would be your recommendation in this regard? I'm afraid that connecting the laptop to power for long periods of time will do more harm than good.
