Thinkpad X1Y3 Pen Stuck Out of Box?

Hey all,

Just got my X1Y3 yesterday and loving it. Upon trying to take out the pen, I couldn't remove it with normal or slightly-higher-than-normal force. I didn't want to pull too hard at risk of damaging internals.

Googled the issue, seems like others have had the issue in the past, with the resolution being unscrew the back and see if you can get the pen out that way, lo and behold, got the pen out and it worked without issue. Tried putting the pen back in through the side and can't get it out again. Upon inspection it looks like the internal latch is catching the lip right near the end of the pen.

Contacted support and they said my computer was out of warranty (but I bought it last week and got it yesterday...). They're supposedly working to fix that right now, which they will then attempt to figure out my pen situation. I just wanted to see if anyone else had this issue before.
